The Board of Fire and Police Commissioners for the Village of Schiller Park is now accepting applications for the position of:
Entry Level Police Officer
Testing is being conducted for anticipated hiring of multiple officers and to establish an Eligibility List for future hiring needs.

Salary Range: $72,168 – $110,175
Village will cover 50% of retiree health insurance premium at age 50 with 20 years of credible service. Insurance will cease once retiree reaches age 65.
You must meet the minimum requirements:
Citizenship: Must be a U.S. Citizen
Drivers License: Must possess a valid Driver’s License at the time of application and must have or be able to obtain an Illinois Driver’s License at the time of hire.
Age Requirement: Applicant MUST have attained their 21st birthday by the last date for filing applications (12/27/2023). Applicants must be under the age of 35 years at the time of application (12/27/2023). Veterans shall be allowed to exceed the minimum age provision of 35 years of age, by the number of years served on active military duty, as defined in the Illinois Municipal Code, but by no more than 10 years of active duty.
Education: Must have proof of High School Diploma, GED Certificate or High School Proficiency Statement AND a minimum of 60 credit hours from an accredited College or University.
P.O.W.E.R. Card: Must obtain/possess a P.O.W.E.R. Card issued between 11/1/23 and 1/12/24.
Character: Must be of good moral character and be physically and psychologically suitable to perform the duties of a Police Officer, both at the time of application and at the time of appointment.
Residence: Within six months of completion of a new hire’s 18 month probationary period, residency must be established within the following borders: East – Lake Michigan, West – IL Route 47, North – Wisconsin border and South – I 80.
